Welcome |
Nirmal Nivas, which means "Pure Home", was created to
provide proper accommodation for female students in
Bangalore India,
as college hostels are unable to accommodate the rapidly expanding numbers of learners.
We strive to provide the best standard of accommodation possible, featuring:
- high standards of home-cooked food (including vegetarian)
- discipline
- telephone facilities (local, STD and ISD)
- a study hall
- 24-hour running water
- gym equipment
The hostels are close to shopping areas and to the main colleges, and have good transport links to Bangalore city centre
Nirmal Nivas, the brain child of Monica Ching, was established in June, 1998 with a few girls in
Koramangala,
Bangalore.
It has now been recognised by
Jyothi Nivas college
(one of the foremost colleges in Bangalore) and can accommodate 80 girls per session including the Paying-Guest accommodation.
"Nirmalites" as we would like to be known, come together from all over India - North,
South, East, West - and also from different parts of the world.
The two things, that parents look for while sending their children away for higher studies, are
security and fun, just as their children would have had at home.
Since opening in 1998, Nirmal Nivas has been created as a home-from-home
for the many female students, arriving from far away places.
It nurtures students from many cultures and traditions.
Not only does Nirmal Nivas provide the basic amenities of food, water and shelter, it also offers
diverse activities to enhance the individual and offer pastoral support.
Life at Nirmal Nivas starts with tea and breakfast and access to world news
through newspapers, television and Internet.
Soon after breakfast, everyone leaves for their schools and
colleges. Lunch provided on their return. Nirmal Nivas
is conveniently located at 223, KHB Colony with major schools and colleges, all being within 3 km.
At 4 o'clock, tea and snacks are served and the television is available for entertainment.
The students also have the freedom to go out for their project work, additional courses, movies, shopping, etc., but must be back by 7 pm.
Study time is obligatory from 7 pm–8:30 pm daily with students either completing their homework, studying for tests or doing revision.
No student is excused from this.
Nirmal Nivas inspires its students to attain their goals, do well in exams and pass out with flying colours.
A record of their grades is maintained, support ansd encouragement given, and progress monitored.
By 10 o’clock, all must be in their beds and lights out to avoid any inconvenience to others.
However the study hall is accessible 24 hours a day.
Nirmal Nivas not only nurtures the young student, it also provides for her development.
Prayer meetings are held to enlighten the mind, body and soul.
Entertainment nights are scheduled to exhibit their skills and talents.
Picnics and outings are organised to nearby beauty spots.
The Shivasmudra waterfalls and Neeladri water park are the few places visited by the Nirmalites.
Nirmal Nivas also instills team spirit into the girls :
we encourage the girls to take part in team activities, including design (e.g. the hostel T-shirts)
singing and performance (e.g. preparing for Christmas carol concert)
Nirmal Nivas is an ideal hostel for young girls.
It not only ensures the safety and security of the student but also makes her independent, creative, well adjusted, confident in her values, and ready to the face the outside world on her own!
